My Training Log

Week 6, Day 2: Bench Press Workout

Overall, a pretty good day.

I didn’t walk in feeling great and the weight felt heavier than I’d like but my strength was there and I actually did pretty well with my main moves.

All in all, I’m happy with today’s session. 

1) Bench Press: 4 x 5 @ 205lbs

Yes, I did train in Timberland’s. I forgot my regular training shoes and didn’t feel like benching barefoot so…there ya have it…benching in work boots.

Again, this felt pretty good. 205 for 5 isn’t an all-time PR but it did feel much easier than expected. 

Maybe I should bench in Timberland’s all the time.

2) Pause Bench Press: 3 x 6 @ 175lbs

Very easy.

I did 185 x 6 this past weekend but today I was spent from the 4 work sets beforehand and didn’t feel like grinding any reps out. 

I stuck with 175 for all 3 sets and they felt great.

Very happy with how my bench is feeling today.

3) Dumbbell Row: 4 x 8/arm @ 80lbs

4a) Weighted Pull-Up: 3 x 8 +25lbs

I was surprised 25lbs felt as heavy as it did but then I remembered the boots are probably adding much more than my usual footwear.

Either way, my lats got blown up big time.

4b) Dumbbell Front Raise: 3 x 15 @ 25lbs

That’s a Wrap!

Start to finish, warm-up included, this entire workout took just under 65-minutes.
