I love this quote.
I first heard it years ago but completely forgot about it until I saw this picture floating around internet land the other day.
After reading it over several times it got me thinking and, if you know me, you know anytime I start thinking I bust out my computer and start writing. Here’s what came out:
“We all have problems.
That will never change. And it’s honestly a good thing because overcoming problems is what challenges us to grow and be better every single day.
But the difference between those who succeed and those who don’t is where their focus lies.
Do you dwell on your problems or do you focus on your opportunities?
Dwelling on your problems will do nothing for you. It will only create a perpetual habit of focusing on the bad that inhibits you from moving forward.
Focusing on your opportunities allows you to recognize your problems without letting them take over every waking moment. You see and understand them, but instead of submitting you learn to overcome them.
Your mind controls all action. Focus on your problems and you will create more problems. Focus on your opportunities and you will create more progress.”
And with that in mind, today I’ve got a monster edition of The Week in Review ready for you.
Enjoy and have a great rest of your weekend.

In this weeks new article “Weight Loss Motivation: 3 Mind Hacks to Stay Motivated to Lose Weight,” I’m really excited to share with you 3 little-known strategies to boost your motivation. It’s already been read over 5,000 times in the past 48-hours and the response has been nothing short of incredible so give it a read today.
My [Client] Training Logs
My training logs are back, I’m posting them daily on Instagram, and I’ve shared some brand new videos with you below. This week I’ve also included several of my personal training clients videos as well and if you want to see more you can follow me on Instagram @SyattFitness
RDL to Reverse Lunge + TRX Hinge Row + Kettlebell Swing
Christina stared this brutal circuit right into the windows of its soul and absolutely crushed it. Not for the faint of heart, if you want to give this circuit a shot see how many rounds you can complete in 8-minutes using 8 repetitions for every exercise.
1.5 Goblet Box Squats
Jeff has lost about 20lbs in the last 10-weeks and he’s gained a metric ton of strength in the process. Here he’s doing one of my personal favorite squat variations (1.5 goblet box squats) near the tail end of our most recent training session. If you want to give these a shot, try doing 4 sets of 8 reps supersetted with an ab exercise like The Reverse Crunch.
Prior to this past Tuesday, Christa had never sumo deadlifted. But Christa never says “no” to a challenge and, per usual, she rose to the occasion and blew my expectations out of the water. Here she is sumo deadlifting 205lbs for 3 sets of 5 reps and making it look easy to boot. If you’ve never sumo deadlifted and want to learn how, you can watch my free video tutorials HERE and HERE.
Sumo Deadlift: 445lbs x 4
I also had a great deadlifting session this past week so, obviously, I had to throw it up on here. I got so fired up after this deadlift session I decided my next major training goal is to deadlift 600lbs. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.
Client Spotlight: Mimi
A full-time teacher and mother of 3, Mimi’s been a member of my 1-on-1 online coaching program for about 8-months and her transformation never ceases to blow me away.
Not only has Mimi completely reshaped her body (I mean, holy hell, she looks amazing!) but, more importantly, she’s completely revamped her mindset.
When Mimi first contacted me, she was nervous because she had tried every diet and exercise program under the sun.
Every. Single. One.
She had no idea what else she could do and, at that point, she figured she was “stuck” for the rest of her life.
Well, after months upon months of continuous learning, hard work, introspection, and strategic planning…Mimi now believes in herself and her own ability to succeed in anything and everything she wants to accomplish.
Now that’s truly amazing.
Congratulations, Mimi! You’re an inspiration to everyone who knows you and I couldn’t me more proud to call you a friend.
